The Mendinismi collection is the result of maximum rigour in the study of colours, proportions, distances and space. Style and fantasy blend with the graphic shapes becoming unique and original pieces. Vases, plates and other objects in fiberglass. Lines from the Enlightenment Era to vases in shapes inspired by the Chinese and Etruscan classical vessels.

Born in Milan in 1931. Architect, director of Casabella, Modo and Domus magazines, member of the Studio Alchimia group. His work includes objects, paintings, installations, architectures. He collaborates with the most influential international companies such as Alessi, Philips, Cartier, Swatch, Hermés, Venini.

Honorary member of the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design in Jerusalem.

Winner of the prestigious Compasso d’Oro award in 1979 and 1981, he is Chevalier des Arts at des Lettres in France, he receives the honour Architectural League in New York and the Laurea Honoris Causa at the Politecnico in Milan.

Professor of Design at the Hochschule für Angewandte Kunst in Vienna and honorary professor at the Accademic Council of Guangzhou, Academy of fine Arts in China.

His work has been displayed in museums and private collections around the world. In 1989, he opens Atelier Mendini in Milan, together with his brother Francesco. Some of the achievements from the fruitful collaboration are: the Alessi Factories in Omegna, the Olympic swimming pool in Trieste, the refurbishment of the Villa Comunale in Naples, the Byblos Art Hotel-Villa Amistà in Verona, the Trend Group’s offices in Vicenza, the Groningen Museum in Holland; the requalification of an area in Lugano, Switzerland, the office building Madsack in Hannover, a commercial building in Lörrach, Germany, and many buildings in Europe and America.
